When I was in High School/University, I used to draw a lot of Funny-strip type comics. That's when I started to draw myself a lot. My friends didn't like me drawing them because they felt that I was poking fun at them. So I made me always the butt of jokes in those pictures. Now that I've moved on from that particular style, I still draw me occasionally out of habit, lol. It's kind of like anime-me is an original character now.
Something weird about me is that I'll lightly sketch out a BUNCH of poses from models, anime pictures, out of my head, and so on for future use. No detail, just bare lines. Then later on, I'll fill them in on whatever kick I'm on that week. (I have 6 of those right now) I said all that to say that if I have a neat pose and have no plan on who that pose should be, I'll pick myself. It's safe, and I don't have to worry about crediting anyone for the character, and people know it's me so it's isn't some obscure original work like Higginbotham or Shield Maidens. It's weird, but just sort of happened that way.
