From left to right: Tinya the Fairy, Kahl the Brownie, Tonio the Brownie, and Nyx the Pixie.
(I think I got that right)

Ermmm... without looking at it to remind me, I did this for someone.  I think they wanted One of the girls going ape-shit on the other girl with the guys getting in the way, thus ruining a good cat-fight.

Are the terms Fairy,Brownie,Sprite and Pixie now used interchangebly for a small winged humanoid that's presumably 3 inches tall?
That makes it confusing about what makes each term different. I've always thought of a pixie as the smallest with a brownie being about the size of a 3 year old, a sprite being about the size of a 7yr old and a fairy being adult/teen sized.  I know disney does pixie/fairy interchanged but does everyone now do it?

The term Fairy (Also known as faerie) covers a whole category of magical beings and can cover everything from nixies, phooka's and elves amongst others. Pixies are merely a small part of that family group. It's rather like using the term rodents to describe just mice and not the whole family. So technically Tinkerbell is a fairy. Just a specific type of fairy and not the only type of fairy.

I have no clue.  These aren't my characters and I know next to nothing about that side of mythical creatures.  So I guess I can't really give you any answers.  I do know that Tinker Bell technically is a pixie, not a fairy, and that fairies (fae) are supposed to be a darker version of elves.  At least in some mythical circles.

Well now that's interesting, and I always thought Tink and Co. were more pixies than fairies anyway. But Fairies being darker elves in some places, I've heard of dark fairies but making them elven doesn't seem fit for anyone but an elemental fairy, which is technically only 4-5 of them depending on whether Heart/Spirit is counted.
