Recently I finished a project called A Titan A Day where I pretty much did a picture of all the side-heroes in the Teen Titan animated universe. The idea for that came from this. I wanted to do a Yearbook page featuring the Titans as if they were classmates. I turned down the idea because I didn't want to draw everyone... then I turned around and did all of them anyway. So it only seemed fair that I finished the ORIGINAL idea I had in the first place.
As always, I do not own these characters, they are all the property of their creators and DC Comics.
I know I'm responding to this WAY late. To remind you, you asked me why I made Jericho (from Teen Titans) looks different from both his show and animation counter part in my Teen Titans Yearbook picture.
The answer is simple. Jericho being a hippy in the 21st century is lame, especially when you realize that the animated show's creators modernized every character BUT him. It's very odd. He looks out of place with the rest of them. I thought it would be fun to "update" him, maybe give him a "Slade-like" outfit. I did the same with Rose Wilson before hand and it worked for her, so I thought I'd try it with her brother.
Kinda ironic that you have Jericho in an outfit similar to his father and you also have Terra, who was Slade's lover in the actual comics that the show was modeled after (with the original script for the show actually suggesting that the reason that Terra so easily defected to the side of evil was because she had an innate crush on Slade, probably due to his mystique and the very fact that some girls like people who are clearly bad for them), in the same class.
Yeah. Kinda disturbing when you have Terra in the same class, since the source comics have her as Slade's spy and lover! Yes, I said lover. In the comics, Terra openly instigated sexual congress with someone old enough to be an aging relative, despite the fact that she was just using him for physical gratification and didn't outright love him like Slade, for some reason, loved her, even though he had a family, which included son Jericho, who was a Titan during the time that Terra acted as Slade's mole.
