First off, let me say... I do NOT own this image of Young Justice Robin, I did not draw it, I only doctored it. I wanted to picture him with my fan drawings of a Young Justice versions of Teen Titans. If the owner wants me to take this down I will. BUT I DID draw everyone else. Of course I don't own the characters either, they are all the property owned by DC Comics.
ONCE AGAIN...I don't own the characters shown here from Young Justice OR the pulled Robin image used here. They are the property of DC Comics and Warner Brothers. The Television show was created by Greg Weisman and Brandon Vietti
I played Injustice on PS4 with a friend and guess what I see Grown up versions of Robin, of course Robin in teen titans became Nightwing and a new Robin came in But in Injustice, there's Robin Raven and Cyborg! So awesome!
I love how Cyborg looks like the 80's version, Beast Boy looks great (I always wondered how old he is supposed to be in Titans, he seems like the youngest of the team) Robin looks... Well, obviously YJ style robin, but I'd had liked to see your take on revamping him from TT to YJ. Raven looks perfect! And Starfire, I see her as having a bit more modern look, same with Cyborg.
But, I love this drawing, great job on making your take on how they'd look. ^^
In animation terms, Teen Titan had a long and successful run. Young Justice on the other hand got cancelled mid-second season, and while I'm sad to see it go, they did deserve it. Season Two completely ruined everything great Season One did. Along with the politics with DC Nation vs Cartoon Network, bad scheduling with long gaps in between breaks, the show had no chance. I just hope this does kill any chance for GOOD animated shows. I hate cheap animated shows and cg ones.
well... Yeah... I gotta admit that season 2 kinda ruined it a bit... But I still enjoyid it after a while... I just hope that they will learn something from it, and now know what to do and what to diffinately not do!
The guy dating Bumblebee was Mal Duncan, who was both Guardian (he got his outfit similar to the show, random hero outfits pieced together) and later on Herald. But like Bumblebee, he also appeared in the animated Teen Titans show as well. Do you remember the horn blower that opened up portals... that was Mal.
Personally I feel it was a good idea not to include the Titans. It would have taken away the importance of the Young Justice team... though season two did that anyway and got itself cancelled... The New Teen Titans cast would have stolen the show and once they were there, you would want more shows with them in them (out of nostalgia for the previous animated show) and less of the new guys.
If I were to have done Young Justice, I wouldn't have made up my own universe and did something similar to what Teen Titans did. I'd loosely follow the comics, but leave breathing room to follow my own stories. I'd have season arcs based on one character's story too, but leave plenty of shows that were one-offs, leaving room for adventure and fun. But I'd also keep it serious, like YJ did. My team would disappoint you, because I'd keep the original team, and I'd borrow some next gen titans because Young Justice had a very small line up.
I'd use: Tim Drake (Robin), Kon-El (Superboy), Cassie Sandsmark (Wonder Girl), Bart Allen (Impulse), Lorena Marquez (Aquagirl), Virgil Hawkins (Static), and Greta Hayes (Secret). They would still be mentored by Red Tornado, but I might have Cyborg "guest mentor" as well. I borrowed Virgil and Lorena because as I said before the actual young justice roster is small and has some "eh" characters like Flamebird and Lil Lobo.
I think your design for BB looks a lot better than how he ended up on the show. Also, LOVE Raven in this design. It's like a mix of what the animated brought, but still brings in a little of the comic's design. Very cool & refreshing! If they ever added Raven & Star, they should take a tip from you! I heard Cyborg's supposed to be part of the League already, though. Does anyone know if there's any substance to that claim? Cause I never saw even a little cameo so far...
It's supposed to be "Earth-16", whatever that means. But I still haven't seen him on :/ I guess he's supposed to make a little cameo really soon & I keep looking for him! DX I really hope so, I'd love to see more of the old Titan team on YJ, even if it's not quite the same...
Yeah, CN made a really bad call pulling it out till January like that. But at least it's back now, and that means less of a wait for Beware the Batman & Teen Titans Go! I can't wait to see how those two will turn out!
I'm more looking forward to Beware the Batman over Teen Titans Go!. It kills me they decided to turn Titans into Sponge Bob. I mean, the first Titans was known for it's comedy, but it's most popular episodes were the big dramatic ones. So beats me why a 30 minute short show is what they decided to go with. If they wanted to do that, Super Best Friends was perfect for that. As far as Beware's concerned, I'm not thrilled with the knew sidekick (could have been Cassandra Brown if they wanted to go dark). Any cartoon where they have a blade but can't kill anyone with it rubs me the wrong way. What's the point?
Eh, like I said, CN makes bad calls. They can't please everyone, though. Their target audience is 7-13 year old boys. With TTGo!, the way I see it. It's something after all these years. I was bout 8 when they canceled, so there wasn't much me or my friends could do, right? Now, though, they got the whole cast back for this! They're doing *something* after 6/7 years. Plus, I think if all the fans keep up the fight, but try not to react too negatively to the new show... Call me hopeful, but I think that we're a lot closer to getting season six now than we were bout, say, three years ago. For Beware the Batman... considering that Glen Murakami is working on it, I was miffed at first, but I'm willing to see how it'll go.
Lets face it, Raven's comic outfits are stupid cocktail dresses... THEY SUCK. If there is one thing the animated show did right was fix her outfit. And it's AMAZING the comic didn't go "hey that's awesome, let's do that." The best comic outfit she had ever was a full body leotard... but she didn't wear that for long.
*sighs* The date I did this was before Season Two. At the time, that was the correct Robin, and Beast Boy hadn't really been designed yet. Plus the Season Two Robin is Tim Drake. The Teen Titans Robin with this line up is Dick Grayson, which would make it season one Robin regardless.
I really like it. But you should have resigned Raven's costume as well. In the original New Teen Titans comic book she used a long dress, perhaps ypu could have blended both costumes?... The rest look very weel done! great job!
BeastBoy(aka the Changeling) may actually appear in the show since Miss Martian "cured" him of his wounds, side effect mutant animal superpowers.
